and praising [aineo] God for all they had heard and seen, as it
had been told them.
- Luke 17:16
- And he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks
[eucharisteo] . Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus, "Were
not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return
and give praise [doxa: glory, worship] to God except this
foreigner?"
- Luke 18:43
- And immediately he received his sight and followed him,
glorifying [doxazo: magnifying] God; and all the people, when
they saw it, gave praise [ainos] to God.
- Luke 19:37-38
- As he was now drawing near, at the descent of the Mount of
Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice
and praise [aineo] God with a loud voice for all the mighty
works that they had seen, saying, "Blessed is the King who comes
in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the
highest!"
- John. 11:41
- So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes
and said, "Father, I thank [eucharisteo] thee that thou hast
heard me.
- Acts 2:46-47
- And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking
bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and
generous hearts, praising [aineo] God and having favor with all
the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those
who were being saved.
- Acts 3:8-9
- And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple
with them, walking and leaping and praising [aineo] God. And all
the people saw him walking and praising [aineo] God.
- Acts 27:35
- And when he [Paul] had said this, he took bread, and giving
thanks [eucharisteo] to God in the presence of all he broke it
and began to eat.

as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing

- First, I thank [eucharisteo] my God through Jesus Christ for
all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.
- Rom. 7:25
- Thanks [eucharisteo] be to God through Jesus Christ our
Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind,
but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
- Rom. 14:6
- He who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord.
He also who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives
thanks [eucharisteo] to God; while he who abstains, abstains in
honor of the Lord and gives thanks [eucharisteo] to God.
- Rom. 15:9-11
- And in order that the Gentiles might glorify [doxazo:
magnify] God for his mercy. As it is written, "Therefore I will
praise [exomologeo: confess to] thee among the Gentiles, and
sing [psallo: divine music] to thy name"; and again it is said,
"Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people"; and again, "Praise
[aineo] the Lord, all Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise
him".
- 1 Cor. 1:4
- I give thanks [eucharisteo] to God always for you because of
the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus.

denounced because of that for which I give thanks [eucharisteo]?

said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance
of me."
- 1 Cor. 14:16-18
- Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how can any one in
the position of an outsider say the "Amen" to your thanksgiving
[eucharistia] when he does not know what you are saying? For you
may give thanks [eucharisteo] well enough, but the other man is
not edified. I thank [eucharisteo] God that I speak in tongues
more than you all; nevertheless, in church I would rather speak
five words with my mind, in order to instruct others, than ten
thousand words in a tongue.
- 2 Cor. 1:11
- You also must help us by prayer [deesis], so that many will
give thanks [eucharisteo] on our behalf for the blessing granted
us in answer to many prayers [implied].
- 2 Cor. 4:15
- For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to
more and more people it may increase thanksgiving [eucharisteo],
to the glory of God.
- 2 Cor. 9:11-15
- You will be enriched in every way for great generosity,
which through us will produce thanksgiving [eucharistia] to God;
for the rendering of this service not only supplies the wants of
the saints but also overflows in many thanksgivings
[eucharistia] to God. (Living). Those you help will be glad not
only because of your generous gifts to themselves and to others,
but they will praise [doxazo: glorify, magnify] God for this
proof that your deeds are as good as your doctrine. And they
will pray [deesis] for you with deep fervor and feeling because
of the wonderful grace of God shown through you. Thanks [grace]
be to God for his inexpressible gift!
- Eph. 1:6
- To the praise [epainos] of his glorious grace which he
freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
- Eph. 1:12-14
- We who first hoped in Christ have been destined and
appointed to live for the praise [epainos] of his glory. In him
you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your

promised Holy Spirit, which is the guarantee of our inheritance
until we acquire possession of it, to the praise [epainos] of
his glory.

remembering you in my prayers [proseuche].

which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving
[eucharistia].
- Eph. 5:19-20
- Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody [psallo: divine music] to the
Lord with all your heart, always and for everything giving
thanks [eucharisteo] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God
the Father. Always and for everything giving thanks
[eucharisteo] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the
Father.

us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

- As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in
him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith,
just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving
[eucharistia].
- Col. 3:15
- And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which
indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful
[eucharistos].

- And we also thank [eucharisteo] God constantly for this,

you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is,
the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith is growing
abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is
increasing.
- 2 Thes. 2:13
- But we are bound to give thanks [eucharisteo] to God always
for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God chose you
from the beginning to be saved, through sanctification by the
Spirit and belief in the truth.
- 1 Tim. 2:1-2
- First of all, then, I urge that supplications [deesis],
prayers [proseuche], intercessions [enteuxis], and thanksgivings
be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high
positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly
and respectful in every way.
- 1 Tim. 4:3-5
- [Some who depart from the faith] who forbid marriage and
enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received
with thanksgiving [eucharistia] by those who believe and know
the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is
to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving
[eucharistia]; for then it is consecrated by the word of God and
prayer [enteuxis].

thanks [eucharistia] to him who is seated on the throne, who
lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before
him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for
ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne,
singing, "Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory
and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by
thy will they existed and were created." [Rev. 7:12; 11:17]
- Rev. 19:5

God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great."
