Supporting Verses:
- Romans 1:3-4
-
…The gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David
according to the flesh and designated Son of God in power
according to the [Pneuma] [hagiosune] Spirit of holiness by his
resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
- Romans 5:5
-
And hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been
poured into our hearts through the [Pneuma] [Hagios] Holy
Spirit, which has been given to us.
- Romans 8:2-16
-
For the law of the [Pneuma][[zoe] Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
has set me free from the law of sin and death. For God has done
what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his
own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he
condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the just requirement
of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to
the flesh but according to the [Pneuma] Spirit.
- For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on
the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the
[Pneuma] Spirit set their minds on the things of the [Pneuma]
Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the
mind on the [Pneuma] Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that
is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to
God's law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the flesh
cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, you are in
[Pneuma] the Spirit, if in fact [Pneuma] the Spirit of [Theos]
God dwells in you. Any one who does not have [Pneuma] the Spirit
of [Christos] Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in
you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits
[Pneuma] are alive because of righteousness. [Literal: but
Spirit is life because of righteousness]. If the [Pneuma] Spirit
of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who
raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal
bodies also through his [Pneuma] Spirit which dwells in you. So
then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live
according to the flesh--for if you live according to the flesh
you will die, but if by [Pneuma] the Spirit you put to death the
deeds of the body you will live. For all who are led by [Pneuma]
the Spirit of [Theos] God are sons of God. For you did not
receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you
have received [Pneuma] the Spirit of sonship. When we cry,
"Abba! Father!" it is the [Pneuma] Spirit, himself bearing
witness with our spirit that we are children of God
- Romans 8:22-27
-
We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail
together until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves,
who have the first fruits of the [Pneuma] Spirit, groan inwardly
as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
For in this hope we were saved…Likewise the [Pneuma] Spirit
helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we
ought, but the [Pneuma] Spirit himself intercedes for us with
sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men
knows what is the mind of the [Pneuma] Spirit, because the
[Pneuma] Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will
of God.
- Romans 9:1
-
I am speaking the truth in Christ, I am not lying; my conscience
bears me witness in [Pneuma] [Hagios] the Holy Spirit, that I
have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
- Romans 14:17
-
For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness
and peace and joy in [Pneuma] [Hagios] the Holy Spirit.
- Romans 15:13
-
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, so that by the power of [Pneuma] [Hagios] the Holy
Spirit you may abound in hope.
- Romans 15:16-19
-
to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly
service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the
Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by [Pneuma] [Hagios] the
Holy Spirit. In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of
my work for God. For I will not venture to speak of anything
except what Christ has wrought through me to win obedience from
the Gentiles, by word and deed, by the power of signs and
wonders, by the power of [Pneuma] [of] [Theos] the Holy Spirit,
so that from Jerusalem and as far round as Illyricum I have
fully preached the gospel of Christ,
- Romans 15:30
-
I appeal to you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the
love of the [Pneuma] Spirit, to strive together with me in your
prayers to God on my behalf,
- 1 Cor. 2:4-14
-
And my speech and my message were not in plausible words of
wisdom, but in demonstration of [Pneuma] the Spirit and of
power, 10. But unto us God revealed them through the [Pneuma]
Spirit; for [Pneuma] the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the
deep things of God. For what person knows a man's thoughts
except the spirit of the man which is in him? For who among men
knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which
is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the
[Pneuma] [Theos] Spirit of God. But we received, not the spirit
of the world, but the [Pneuma] Spirit which is from [Theos] God,
that we might know the things that were freely given to us of
God. Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom
teacheth, but taught [of] [Pneuma] [Hagios] by the Spirit ;
combining spiritual things with spiritual words. Now the natural
man receiveth not the things of [Pneuma
ho (of) Theos] the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot
know them, because they are spiritually judged.
- 1 Cor. 3:16
-
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that the [Pneuma
ho (of) Theos] God’s Spirit dwells in you?
- 1 Cor. 6: 9-11
-
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the
kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor
the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will
inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you
were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus Christ and in [Pneuma (Spirit)
ho (of) Theos
(God) hemon (our)] the Spirit of our God.
- 1 Cor. 6:19
-
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the [in you]
[Hagios] [Pneuma] Holy Spirit within you, which you have from
God? You are not your own.
- 1 Cor. 7:39-40
-
A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. If the
husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only
in the Lord. But in my judgment she is happier if she remains as
she is. And I think that I have [Pneuma] of [Theos] the Spirit
of God.
- 1 Cor. 12:3-13
-
Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by
[Pneuma] of [Theos] the Spirit of God ever says "Jesus be
cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by [Pneuma]
[Hagios] the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but
the same [Pneuma] Spirit; and there are varieties of service,
but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is
the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is
given the manifestation of the [Pneuma] Spirit for the common
good. To one is given through the [Pneuma] Spirit the utterance
of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according
to the same [Pneuma] Spirit, to another faith by the same
[Pneuma] Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one [Pneuma]
Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy,
to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to
another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation
of tongues. All these are inspired by one and the same [Pneuma]
Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. For
just as the body is one and has many members, and all the
members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with
Christ. For by one [Pneuma] Spirit we were all baptized into one
body--Jews or Greeks, slaves or free--and all were made to drink
of one [Pneuma] Spirit.
- 1 Cor. 14:2
-
For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for
no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in [Pneuma] the
Spirit.
- 1 Cor. 14:12
-
So with yourselves; since you are eager for manifestations of
[Pneuma] the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the
church.[Literally: of spirit things or Spirit’s things].
- 2 Cor. 1:21
-
But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has
commissioned us; he has put his seal upon us and given us his
[Pneuma] Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
- 2 Cor. 3:3
-
And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us,
written not with ink but with [Pneuma] of [Theos] [zao] the
Spirit of the livng God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets
of human hearts.
- 2 Cor. 3:5
-
Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as
coming from us; our competence is from God, who has made us
competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written
code but in the [Pneuma] Spirit; for the written code kills, but
[Pneuma] the Spirit gives life. Now if the dispensation of
death, carved in letters on stone, came with such splendor that
the Israelites could not look at Moses' face because of its
brightness, fading as this was, will not the dispensation of the
[Pneuma] Spirit be attended with greater splendor?
- 2 Cor. 3:17
-
Now the Lord is the [Pneuma] Spirit, and where the [Pneuma]
Spirit of [Kuros] the Lord is, there is freedom...And we all,
with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being
changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another;
for this comes from [Kuros] the [Pneuma] the Lord who is the
Spirit. [Literally: Lord the Spirit]
- 2 Cor. 5:5
-
He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given
us the [Pneuma] Spirit as a guarantee. [Literally: The guarantee
of the Spirit].
